Hidekichi Miyazaki, Japanese masters athlete, Died at 108

Hidekichi Miyazaki was born on September 22, 1910 and died on January 23, 2019.

He was a Japanese centenarian masters athlete.

He was  nicknamed Golden Bolt, a name play on Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt.

Miyazaki was a former official holder of the world record in the M100 100 metres.

On September 23, 2015, the day after his 105th birthday, he became the second person to compete in the 105 year age division following Pole Stanisław Kowalski who competed earlier in the year on June 28.

Hidekichi Miyazaki passed away at 108 years old.

Masazo Nonaka, Japanese supercentenarian, Died at 113

Masazō Nonaka was born on July 25, 1905, and died on January 20, 2019.

He was recorded as the oldest person ever born in Hokkaido Prefecture.

He was, at the time of his death at age 113 years, 179 days, Japan's oldest living man since Masamitsu Yoshida's death on October 29, 2016 and the world's oldest living man since Spaniard Francisco Núñez Olivera's death on 30 January 2018.

He was married to Hatsuno Nonaka in 1931 and had five children (of whom two were living as of April 2018).

He ran the family onsen, which opened in 1905, and spent most of his time in a wheelchair, credits his longevity to eating sweets and relaxing in the hot springs.

He died of natural causes at 1:30am on January 20, 2019, and was succeeded as the oldest living man in Germany.

Masazo Nonaka passed away at 113 years old.

Shivakumara Swami, Indian Lingayat spiritual leader & educationist, Died at 111

Shivakumara Swami (born Shivanna) was born on April 1, 1907 and died on January 21, 2019.

He was an Indian spiritual leader, humanitarian and educationist.

Shivakumara was a Lingayat religious figure and head of the Siddaganga Matha in Karnataka.

He also founded the Sri Siddaganga Education Society.

Shivakumara was described as the most esteemed adherent of Lingayatism.

He was also referred to as Nadedaaduva Devaru (walking God) in the state.

Shivakumara was one of the oldest people living in India.

He has been awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's third highest civilian award in 2015 by the Government of India.

Shivakumara Swami Indian Lingayat spiritual leader and educationist passed away at the age of 111 due to a lung infection.

Miguel Gallastegui, Spanish pelotari, Died at 100

Miguel Gallastegui Ariznavarreta was born on February 25, 1918  and died on January 4, 2019.
 
He was a Gipuzkoan pelotari (a Basque pelota player).
 
Gallasteguimade his career debut on June 29, 1936 and played the sport until 1960.

Miguel Gallastegui passed away at 100 years old.

Aldo Parisot, Brazilian-born American cellist, Died at 100

Aldo Simoes Parisot was born on September 30, 1918, in Natal, Brazil, and died at December 29, 2018.

He was a Brazilian-born American cellist and cello teacher.

Aldo Parisot was first a member of the Juilliard School faculty, and then went on to serve as a music professor at the Yale School of Music for sixty years (1958 to July 2018).

He started studying cello at age seven with his stepfather, Tomazzo Babini.

He was also a painter, and exhibited his work at galleries in Boston (New York), New Haven and Palm Beach, and on tour in Poland.

He was the father of three sons, one of whom is film director Aldo L. "Dean" Parisot.

Aldo Parisot passed away at 100 at his home in Guilford, Connecticut, aged 100.

Geoffrey Langlands, British army officer and educator, Died at 101

Geoffrey Douglas Langlands was born on October 21, 1917, in Hull, England and died on January 2, 2019.

He was a British Major, a teacher, and educator.

He resided in Pakistan since the partition of the British Indian Empire in 1947.

Geoffrey Langlands served in the British Indian Army and Pakistani Army as part of his service tenure.

His father was employed in an Anglo-American company and a mother who was a classical folk dance instructor.

Langlands'  father passed away October 27, 1918, due to the 1918 flu pandemic that killed millions worldwide.

Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Langlands moved with the children to her parents' home in Bristol.

During 1930, Langlands' mother died from cancer after which Langlands and his siblings lived under the care of their grandfather.

The following year on 24 December, Langlands grandfather died leaving children with no other relatives.

Langlands' older brother received a scholarship to an orphan school in Bristol, and a family friend helped secure positions for the other children.

Geoffrey Langlands passed away at 101 years old.

Don Lusk, American animator and director, Died at 105

Donald Lusk was born on October 28, 1913, Los Angeles County, California, and died on December 30, 2018, in San Clemente, California.

He was an American animator and director.

He was hired by The Walt Disney Company in 1933.

A few of his more popular work included Pinocchio, Fantasia, Bambi, Song of the South, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Lady, and the Tramp, Sleeping Beauty, and One Hundred and One Dalmatians.

He resigned from Disney in 1960 but when on to work as an animator during the 1960s and 1970s. He career lasted decades before he retired.

Don Lusk passed away at 105 years old.

Ellsworth Wareham, American surgeon, Died at 104

Ellsworth Edwin Wareham was born on October 3, 1914, and died on December 15, 2018.

Wareham was conceived in Texas to cultivating guardians and experienced childhood in Alberta, Canada.

 Ellsworth Wareham was a Seventh-day Adventist and a World War II naval force veteran.

He resigned as a cardiothoracic specialist at 74 years old however kept on partner himself with preparing inhabitants at the Loma Linda University until the age of 95, amid which time he drove 60 miles (100 km) to aid tasks.

Wareham was one of the most punctual specialists of open heart medical procedure, not long after the principal such system was performed.

Leonard Bailey, the specialist who transplanted a primate heart into a child at Loma Linda University in 1984, prepared under Wareham as a therapeutic understudy in the late 1960s.

The kid, Baby Fae, was conceived rashly with a hypoplastic left heart disorder and Bailey's medical procedure stood out as truly newsworthy.

Wareham was additionally made due by eight grandkids, and six extraordinary grandkids.
