James Frawley, American television and film director, Died at 82

James Frawley was born on September 29, 1936,  in Houston, Texas, and diedon  January 22, 2019, in Indian Wells.

He was an American director and actor.

Frawley was a member of the Actors Studio since around 1961.

Frawley was best known for directing The Muppet Movie in 1979 and The Monkees television series.

He had a short-lived acting career, appearing in supporting roles in film and television from 1963 to 1966.

James Frawley passed away at 82 years old.

Jo Andres, American filmmaker, Died at 65

Jo Andres was born on May 21, 1954 and died on January 7, 2019.


She was an American filmmaker, choreographer and artist.
 
She first became known on the kinetic downtown New York performance scene of the 1980s for her film/dance/light performances, shown at the Performing Garage, La Mama E.T.C., P.S. 122, St. Marks Danspace, and the Collective for Living Cinema.

During her filmmaker, she drew acclaim and awards for the 1996 film, Black Kites which aired on PBS and played several film festivals, including Sundance, Berlin, Toronto, London and Human Rights Watch Film Festivals. 

She directed music and art videos, as well as her own film performance works. 

She was a dance consultant to the acclaimed Wooster Group.

Andres was an artist in residence at leading universities, museums and art colonies, including Yaddo, and The Rockefeller Study Center in Bellagio, Italy. 

She was the creater of a series of cyanotype photographs which can be seen on her website.
Andres  and her husband, actor Steve Buscemi, have one son, Lucian, born in 1990.

Jo Andres passed away 65 years old.

Paul Angerer, Austrian conductor, violist, composer, and radiopresenter, Died at 90

Paul Angerer was bornon May 16, 1927 and died on July 26, 2017.

He was an Austrian violist, conductor, composer and radio presenter.

He studied music theory and composition with Friedrich Reidinger and Alfred Uhl, and conducting with Hans Swarowsky.

Angerer performed in the viola section of Wiener Symphoniker, Tonhalle Orchester Zürich and Orchestre de la Suisse Romande early in his career and was viola soloist with the Wiener Symphoniker from 1953 to 1957.

Then, he started to conduct the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and the orchestras in Bonn and Ulm.

Since 1967 to 1972, Angerer was principal conductor of the Salzburg Opera Theater (Salzburger Landestheater) and led the Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester from 1971 to 1982.

In 1982, Angerer began conducting the Concilium Musicum Wien and held a teaching position at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna from 1982 to 1992.

Angerer was awarded the Austrian State Prize for Music in 1953 for his Musik für Viola allein and in 2001, he received the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art, 1st class.

His compositional style was influenced by that of Paul Hindemith.

Angerer's works are published by Verlag Doblinger, Universal Edition, C. Haslinger and Editions M. Reift.

Paul Angerer passed away at 90 years old.

Robert Alfred Wolff, American sportscaster, Died at 96

Robert Alfred Wolff was born on November 29, 1920, in New York City and died on July 15, 2017.

He was an American radio and television sportscaster.

Wolff began his professional career in 1939 on CBS in Durham, North Carolina while attending Duke University.

Robert was the radio and TV voice of the Washington Senators from 1947 to 1960, continuing with the team when they relocated and became the Minnesota Twins in 1961.

During 1962, Robert joined NBC-TV.

During his later years, he was seen and heard on News 12 Long Island, on MSG Network programming and doing sports interviews on the Steiner Sports' Memories of the Game show on the YES Network.

Bob Wolff passed away at 96 years old.

Paolo Limiti, Italian television presenter, Died at 77

Paolo Mario Limiti was born on May 8, 1940, in Milan and died on June 27, 2017.

He was an Italian lyricist, journalist, radio and television writer and presenter.

He started his career as a journalist, then in 1960 he started a long collaboration with Mike Bongiorno as author of his radio and television programs.

Be became especially acive from the mid-1960s as a lyricist, his first hit was Dionne Warwick's "Silent Voices", and he then wrote songs for Mina, Claudia Mori, Mia Martini, Ornella Vanoni, Peppino di Capri, Iva Zanicchi, Albano Carrisi among others.

Paolo was also a successful television presenter, who mainly hosted nostalgic shows about vintage music and about the history of entertainment.

Paolo Limiti received the America Award of the Italy-USA Foundation in 2014.

Paolo Limiti passed away at 77 years old.

Fred Cogley, Irish sports broadcaster, Died at 82

Fred Cogley was born on June 27, 1934 and died on June 14, 2017.

He was an Irish sports commentator and TV presenter.

Cogley worked for the Raidió Éireann and later Raidió Telefís Éireann for 49 years.

Cogley covered eleven Summer Olympic Games from 1952 to 1996 and twelve football World Cups, however, Cogley was best known as the "voice of rugby".

Fred Cogley passed away at 82 years old.

Daniele Piombi, Italian television and radio presenter, Died at 83

Daniele Piombi was born on July 14, 1933, in San Pietro in Casale and died on May 18, 2017.

He was a television and radio presenter and television writer.

Throughout his career Piombi has hosted several musical events, including three editions of the Sanremo Music Festival, three editions of Cantagiro, one edition of Un disco per l'estate, seven editions of the Festival di Napoli, and three editions of the Castrocaro Music Festival.

He was also well known as the creator, organizer and presenter of the "Premio Regia Televisiva", informally known as "Oscar TV", an award ceremony established in 1960 which rewards the best programs, directors and presenters of the Italian television.

Daniele Piombi passed away at 83 years old.

Shakira Martin, American-born Jamaican model and beauty queen, Died at30

Shakira Martin was born on June 1, 1986, in Brooklyn, New York and died on August 3, 2016.

She was a Jamaican model.

Martin was best known for Miss Jamaica Universe, which she won the title in 2011.

Shakira's family relocated to South Florida in 1989, but would visit her mother's homeland of Jamaica frequently.

Martin was a student of Nova High School and graduated in 2004.

Then, she attended Broward College.

Pirior to becoming a model, Martin was a pre-school teacher.

She competed in a pageant in Miami and came in second.

Then a friend of Martin's convinced her to compete in Miss Jamaica Universe.

She won the title of Miss Jamaica Universe in 2011 and used her crown as a platform to raise awareness for people affected by sickle cell anemia.

During 2011, Shakira Martin was a part of a toy drive that donated 400 toys to ill children in a Jamaican hospital.

Martin had modeled in several different countries such as Jamaica, Brazil, Canada and Haiti.

She was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia at 3 months old.

Her parents had been diagnose with the trait for the disease and thus had a 25 percent chance of giving it to a child. Her brother is also a carrier of the trait.

Reported by Martin's mother, Martin was't feeling well after a trip to Jamaica.

She died due to complications with sickle cell blood clots in both her lungs.

Shakira Martin passed away at 30 years old.

Debbie Constantino, American paranormal expert, Died at 52

Debby Constantino was born in 1962, in Nevada and died on September 22, 2015.

She has starred on several hit shows about paranormal activity.

She and her husband, Mark, specialized in EVP (electronic voice phenomena).

Debby and Mark have been married since 1989.

They had a daughter together named Debbie.

They starred on shows like Dead Famous, Paranormal Activity, and Ghost Adventures.

They both lectured and were famous for going on live ghost hunts.

She was best known for starring on shows with her husband like: “Dead Famous,” “Paranormal State” and “Ghost Adventures.

Sadly, Debby and Mark were estranged and she had moved out into an apartment.

Police were called to the apartment at 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 22 after one of her roommates was found dead.

Police founded Debby at her daughter’s apartment, where she was being held hostage by Mark. At 1:30 p.m., The couple had a earlier dispute that ended in her dog and husband charged and arrested for the assault on her, apparently she was abusive to her kids.

Both Mark and Debby was found dead.

She survived two children.

Debby Constantino passed away at 52 yrs old allegedly she was shot.

Barry Schweid, American news correspondent, Died at 83

Barry Schweid was born on July 30, 1932, in New York City and died on December 10, 2015.

He graduated from Columbia University in 1953 and from its journalism school in 1954.

Barry served in the Army as a public relations specialist.

Barry then joined the AP’s New York City bureau and transferred to Washington in 1959.

He was assigned to cover major U.S. Supreme Court decisions 6 yrs after.

In the early 1970s, Barry was tapped to chronicle the globe-trotting Kissinger.

Barry was also inducted into the Washington Society of Professional Journalists’ Hall of Fame in 2002.

Schweid also covered the negotiations at Camp David that President Jimmy Carter brokered to reach a historic peace treaty in 1977 between Egypt’s Anwar Sadat and Israel’s Menachem Begin.

Barry had many scoops.

Barry had reported on a Sunday in April 1980 that Cyrus Vance was resigning as secretary state because he disagreed with the Carter administration’s decision to send a military mission to try to rescue the American hostages in Iran, which as unsuccessful.

Barry Schweid chronicled the Cold War and then its end with the implosion of the Soviet Union, filing news alerts from officials traveling with Secretary of State James Baker.

Barry retired in 2012.

He left behind his wife, Nina Graybill of Washington; and a sister.

Barry Schweid passed away at 83 yrs old, allegedly due to complications from a degenerative neurological condition.
