Wendy Beckett, British religious sister and art historian, Died at 88

Wendy Beckett was born on February 25, 1930, in South Africa and died on December 26, 2018, in Quidenham, Norfolk.

She was otherwise called Sister Wendy.

She was a British religious sister, recluse, blessed virgin, and craftsmanship student of history.

She turned out to be notable globally amid the 1990s when she displayed a progression of documentaries for the BBC on the historical backdrop of workmanship.

Beckett projects, for example, Sister Wendy's Odyssey and Sister Wendy's Grand Tour, regularly drew a 25 percent offer of the British survey group of onlookers.

During 1997, Sister Wendy made her U.S. make a big appearance on open TV and that equivalent year The New York Times depicted her as "an at some point recluse who is quick on her approach to turning into the most far-fetched and renowned craftsmanship pundit ever of." As of September 2018, fragments of these shows are as yet being publicized on a few PBS directs in the U.S.

She grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland, where her dad was studying medicine.

During 1946, Beckett went into the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, a Roman Catholic congregation of Religious Sisters dedicated to education.

Beckett was sent to England where she completed her novitiate and then studied at St Anne's College, Oxford where she was awarded a congratulatory first class honors degree in English Literature.

Wendy Beckett passed away at 88 years old.
