Stewart Adams, British chemist, Died at 95

Educator Stewart Sanders Adams was born in 1923 and died on January 30, 2019.

He was a British scientist.

He was the fundamental piece of a group from Boots that created ibuprofen in the mid-1960s.

Ibuprofen is a COX-1 (cyclooxygenase-1 or prostaglandin G/H synthase 1) inhibitor; NSAIDs work by obstructing the cyclooxygenase compound. With headache medicine and paracetamol, ibuprofen is on the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines; a typical measurement is 1200– 2400 mg for every day.

Prostaglandins (PG) cause torment, swelling and irritation.

It is one of the world's top of the line drugs, and creation is around 15,000 tons for each year, around a third that of headache medicine.

Stewart Adams wedded his significant other, Mary, who was an instructor, in 1950, just before he moved to Leeds where he was acquainted with Rugby group.

Stewart Adams lived in Redhill, Nottinghamshire in the house he moved into in 1955, in the north of Nottingham.

Stewart Adams has turned into a Freeman of the City of Nottingham. In the 1987 New Year Honors, Adams turned into an Officer of the Order of the British Empire.

Stewart Adams passed away at 95 years old.

René Mouille, French aviation engineer, Died at 94

René Mouille was born on October 30, 1924 and died on January 10, 2019.


He was a French engineer, and designer of many of France's most well-known and important helicopters, widely flown by many air forces around the world.

He studied at the École spéciale des travaux aéronautiques (ESTAé) in Orsay, which closed in 1988; the college has been superseded by the Arts et Métiers ParisTech. 

Mouille joined SNCASE. The first helicopter that he designed was the SNCASE SE.3110, the first French helicopter, flown by Jacques Lecarme in June 1950.

SNCASE SE.3120 Alouette, SNCASE SE.3200 Frelon, The Aérospatiale Alouette III II and I , Aérospatiale SA 321 Super Frelon weree all first flew by in in the 1950's.

Mouille was chief designer of the Aérospatiale helicopter division until 1988. 

During December 1977, Mouille won the Bregeut Trophy from the Royal Aero Club.

René Mouille passed away at 94 years old.

Lamin Sanneh, Gambian-born American professor, Died at 76

Lamin Sanneh was born on May 24, 1942, in Gambia and died on January 6, 2019.

He was the D. Willis James Professor of Missions and World Christianity at Yale Divinity School and Professor of History at Yale University.

Following his studies at the University of Birmingham and the Near East School of Theology, Beirut, he earned his doctorate in Islamic History at the University of London.

Lamin Sanneh authored many books and articles on the relationship between Islam and Christianity (titles include Faith and Power: Christianity and Islam in "Secular" Britain, The Crown and the Turban: Muslims and West African Pluralism, and Piety and Power: Muslims and Christians in West Africa).

He converted to Christianity from Islam and was a practicing Roman Catholic He suffered a stroke and died on January 6, 2019. Sandra Sanneh his wife, is a professor of isiZulu at Yale University and their son, Kelefa Sanneh, writes about culture for The New

Yorker. Lamin Sanneh passed away at 76 years old.

Moshe Arens, Israeli aeronautical engineer and politician, Died at 93


Moshe Arens was born on December 1925, in Kaunas, Lithuania, and died on January 7, 2019.

He was an Israeli aeronautical engineer, researcher, diplomat, and Likud politician.

Arens was a member of the Knesset between 1973 and 1992 and again from 1999 until 2003.

Moshe Arens was also appointed the Minister of Defense three times and once as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

He was also served as the Israeli ambassador to the U.S.

Arens served as a professor at the Technion in Haifa.

He was the Deputy Director General at Israel Aircraft Industries from 1962 until 1971, where he was in charge of major development projects, including the Kfir fighter jet project.

Moshe Arens passed away at 93 years old.

Tu Mingjing, Chinese materials scientist, Died at 90

Tu Mingjing was born on November 15, 1928 and died on January 1, 2019, in Chengdu, Sichuan.

He was a Chinese materials scientist.

Tu Mingjing secondary studied at the Affiliated Secondary School of Tongji University.

During 1947 Tu Mingjin was a student at the Tongji University, where he graduated in 1951.

After which he attented the Harbin Institute of Technology and University of Science and Technology Beijing, earning a master's degree.

Tu Mingjing passed away at 90 years old.

Ludwig W. Adamec, Austrian historian, Died at 94

Ludwig W. Adamec was born on March 10, 1924, in Vienna and died on January 3, 2019.

He was a prominent researcher on the Middle East and Afghanistan.

Adamec is Professor Emeritus in the School of Middle East and North African Studies at the University of Arizona.

He has composed and altered various books, including the republication of the grand Historical and political gazetteer of Afghanistan, which had initially been arranged however was unpublished by the administration in British India.

During 1986-87 Ludwig headed the Afghanistan Branch at Voice of America.

Ludwig W. Adamec passed away at 94 years old.
