What is YouTube?

You Tube is a website mainly made for sharing videos, headquartered in San Bruno, California, United States. It was originated by the former PayPal employees named Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim in 2005.

This is the site which allows users to upload videos and share them publicly. There are varieties of contents available including TV serials, award shows, reality shows, funny or horror clips, educational videos, movies, short stories, and other category.

The videos are generally uploaded by the registered users of 18 years of age, while the unregistered fellows are only limited to watch videos. The first you tube video was titled at “Me at the Zoo” uploaded long back but is still visible at the site.

It was primarily thought to be developed into an online dating site but was later converted into a video sharing platform.

Features
Uploading- The main part of You Tube is to upload videos and entertain its viewers. In every 15 minutes users can upload their videos and those having a proper rapport with the Community Guideline site can upload videos at a length of 12 hours.

At beginning the duration to every videos remained to 10 minutes which later got extended to 15 minutes by 2010. Videos more than 20GB can be uploaded in a newer

version of browser.
Playback- Adobe flash player plug in was to be installed in the browser before viewing any of the videos but in 2010 introduced its new version which support the HTML5 standard in every browsers.

At the beginning of 2015, You tube announced that HTML5 will be the default playback on supported browsers including Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Safari.


3D videos- Peter Bradshaw, the software engineer announced that 3D videos can be uploaded in the You Tube. It can be watched by wearing anaglyph.

Quality and formats- The quality and the formats vary from Standard Quality to High Quality to High Definition. You Tube offers video at the resolution of 320*240 pixels, it even added the 3GP format on mobile phones to watch the videos.

There after the 720p and 1080p HD support was added in 2008 and 2009, giving more clear and prominent visibility. In recent news, Youtube supported 8k resolution picture of 7680×4320 pixels giving a top most quality.

Localization system- The Localization service allows the users to choose their local version based on their IP address.

The interface of the site is available at 76 language version including Bengali, Urdu, Uzbek, Armenian, Burmese, Mongolian, Azerbaijan, Khmer, and many more.

Conclusion
You Tube is the second largest search engine after Google. It has a set of community guidelines which focuses on any abusive site feature.

It was blocked by different countries for some time including Turkey, Brazil, Syria, Bangladesh, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan. Most of the You Tube traffic around 70% comes from out of US, having 1 billion users each month.

It was awarded a “Peabody Award” in 2008 for it helped in promoting democracy by acting as a speaker’s corner.

Fred Eckhardt Beer Expert Died

Eckhardt was an advocate and publicist for American sake. Drawing on his experience in beer competitions, he created a set of guidelines for sake tasting competitions.

He published a sake newsletter several times each year; and he authored Sake (U.S.A.): A Complete Guide to American Sake, Sake Breweries and Homebrewed Sake.

While the rest of the world may be drinking more sake and the quality of sake has been increasing, sake production has been declining in Japan since the mid-1970s.

The increase in American production for domestic consumption and export has been, in part, affected by the lower cost of rice compared with Japan; but other more difficult-to-analyze factors are important.

At present, sake homebrewing is not allowed under Japanese law. Eckhardt foresees that his book, which spells out how homebrewing might reinvigorate sake consumption in Japan.

His optimism is informed in part by the unanticipated expansion of micro-breweries in Oregon since the state law prohibiting them was repealed in 1985.

Achim Hill, German rower, Dies at 80

What is Pinterest?

We have all heard about Pinterest, but not many people knows what it is all about, put simply, Pinterest is a website that allows you to "pin" things online, just as you would pin them on a real life bulletin board, but instead, Pinterest saves all of your pins on your account so that you can access them easily.

By accessing this website you will first need an account. Once you're logged on, the next thing you'll need is the "Pin It" button installed in your browser toolbar. This wonderful little button is what allows you to pin things online.

Installing the button is very easy, when you're in your Pinterest account, look to the upper right-hand corner and hover above "About," then click on "Pin It Button" and follow the directions to drag the button into your toolbar. You must also take into consideration that you cannot join without an invitation.

As you start pinning, create "Boards" that categorize your pins, making them easy for you to find later. Pinterest suggests some to get you started, but usually you'll want to create your own to fit what you love to pin.

It takes a while to get the hang of creating boards, they need to be the perfect combination of general and specific, but the more you pin, the better your boards will become.

What is Google Plus?

Google Plus was launched in 2011, and since then it has been one of the most active social networking site but is a bit different from sites like facebook and twitter. Yes they all involve “social” and “people” and “communication”, and both of those other social networks can be great at doing what they do, but Google+ is something different.

It is bringing people together within the context of many of Google’s services. It is, quite simply, something to be experienced for yourself.

Recently, the departure of the public face of Google+, Vic Gundotra, led many to call the network dead. These naysayers claim Google+ doesn't work, it doesn't make sense, and that it's a ghost town. But, that is all wrong, it is alive, it absolutely works, and you should almost definitely use it.

If you have a Google Account, you can activate your Google+ account as easily as you would activate Google Now. At first, it seems about the same as Facebook or Twitter, importing contacts and assigning them to circles, Google+'s version of lists.

After that, you can add curated circles for your particular interests, entertainment, news, sports, etc. With that said, the first big difference is that Google+ isn't reliant on any of those real-life contacts you import.

The 'Notifications' section will let you know when someone adds you to one of their circles (though not which circle) and when someone has commented on or reacted to content that you've shared or commented on.

You can make comments underneath content shared by other users that you follow, and you can also '+1' it. The latter is similar to ‘liking’ on Facebook.

If the original poster allows it, after you interact with a post, Google+ threads responses and informs you of any updates. If this starts to get annoying, you can ‘mute’ these updates. Basically, Google+ is an amalgamation of several services we already use. The idea, according to Google, is to do them better.

Facebook, a popular social networking website that makes it so easy for you to connect and share photos and videos with your family and friends online, it was created in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg while he was enrolled at Harvard University.

For many people, having a fFacebook account is now an expected part of being online, much like having your own email address. And since Facebook is so trendy, other websites have worked to integrate Facebook. This means you can use a single Facebook account to sign in to different services across the Web.

Within each member's personal profile, there are several key networking components. The most popular is arguably the Wall, which is essentially a virtual bulletin board. Messages left on a member's Wall can be text, video or photos as mentioned before.

Another popular component is the virtual Photo Album. Photos can be uploaded from the desktop or directly from a smartphone camera. There is no limitation on quantity, but Facebook staff will remove inappropriate or copyrighted images.

An interactive album feature allows the member's contacts (who are called generically called "friends") to comment on each other's photos and identify (tag) people in the photos.
