Ringo Lam, Hong Kong film director, Died at 63

Ringo Lam Ling-Tung was born in Hong Koin Hong Kong, in 1955 and died on December 29, 2018.

He was a Hong Kong film director, producer, and screenwriter.

Mike Taylor, Canadian musician Dead

Musician, Mike Taylor, the keyboardist and vocalist of the Canadian band Walk Off the Earth, known as “Beard Guy,” Pass away from natural causes in the night while in his sleep., according to a statement released by the band.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother and band member, Mike Taylor “Beard Guy” ” says the band’s Facebook post. “Mike had a love for life that was unmatched and a willingness to give that went beyond ordinary means.”


The Burlington, Ontario-based band said Mike passed away peacefully in his sleep from natural causes on Saturday night on December 29, 2018.

He is survived by his two children.

The band, Walk Off the Earth, gained recognition in 2012 after posting a cover of Australian artist Gotye’s Somebody that I Used to Know, with all five members playing the song on a single guitar.

Since being posted on January 2012, the video has received over 185 million views. Mike Taylor gained his ‘Beard Guy’ moniker after appearing so calm and stoic in the video.

Aldo Parisot, Brazilian-born American cellist, Died at 100

Aldo Simoes Parisot was born on September 30, 1918, in Natal, Brazil, and died at December 29, 2018.

He was a Brazilian-born American cellist and cello teacher.

Aldo Parisot was first a member of the Juilliard School faculty, and then went on to serve as a music professor at the Yale School of Music for sixty years (1958 to July 2018).

He started studying cello at age seven with his stepfather, Tomazzo Babini.

He was also a painter, and exhibited his work at galleries in Boston (New York), New Haven and Palm Beach, and on tour in Poland.

He was the father of three sons, one of whom is film director Aldo L. "Dean" Parisot.

Blandine Verlet was born on February 27, 1942, in Paris and died on December 30, 2018.

She was a French harpsichordist and a harpsichord teacher.

She was known internationally for her recordings of works by François Couperin.
