Lenin Rajendran, Indian film director, Died at 67

Lenin Rajendran was born in Trivandrum, Kerala, India and died on January 14, 2019.

He was an Indian film director and screenwriter.

He worked in Malayalam cinema. Rajendran served as the Kerala State Film Development Corporation from 2016 to January 2019.

When he started out his film-making career, he was an assistant to director P. A. Backer, Rajendran made his directorial debut with Venal (1982).

Rajendran's first film on to his last one, Edavappathy (2016), Rajendran has been consistent with the quality of his films, not surrendering to market forces even while using the form and stars of popular cinema.

Rajendran's other films are Prem Nazirine Kanmanilla (1983), Puravrutham (1988), and Vachanam (1989).

Lenin Rajendran passed away at 67 years old due to liver ailments at Appolo Hospital Chennai.

Alfredo Arpaia, Italian politician, Died at 88

Alfredo Arpaia was born on  August 14, 1930 and died on January 7, 2019.

 

He was was an Italian politician.

 

He was the  a Deputy between 1982 and 1983.

Georges Dimou, Greek singer, Died at 87

Georges Dimou was born on July 14, 1931 and died on January 8, 2019 in Vienna.

 

He was a Greek singer born in Thessaloniki.

 

Dimou studied dramatic and vocal art in Athens and from the beginning Dimou was successful as actor and singer with international presence.

Dimou began as a singer in the Viennese Splendid Bar (Managed by Mr. Parker), Austria in 1958.

 

He was also an actor and musician he played in amusing films like The crazy aunts, The world is azure, Red lips have to be kissed.

Georges Dimou  passed away at 87 years old.

Shivajirao Deshmukh, Indian politician, Died at 84

Shivajirao Bapusaheb Deshmukh was born on September 1, 1935 and died on January 14, 2019.

 

He was a Chairman of Maharashtra Legislative Council in India.

 

Deshmukh  was elected to Maharashtra Legislative Council in 1996 and 2002.

 

Earlier, Deshmukh was  elected to Maharashtra Assembly in 1978, 1980, 1985 and 1990.

Shivajirao Deshmukh pased away at 84 years old.

Duncan Welbourne, English footballer, Died at 78

Duncan Welbourne was born on July 28, 1940,  in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire and died on January 14, 2019.

He was an English professional football player, coach and manager.

 

Welbourne started his career as an amateur at Scunthorpe United.

 

Welbourne began his professional career at Grimsby, as a wing half.

 

During November 1963 Welbourne  transferred to Watford, for a fee of £1,300.

 

At Watford he converted to a full back, when the club started playing in a 4–4–2 formation.

 

He set what was then a Watford record of 457 competitive appearances, breaking the 35-year-old record previously held by Tommy Barnett. 

Welbourne's  280 consecutive Football League games remains a record.

Completing third in the club's inaugural Player of the Season award in 1972–73, he left Watford on a free transfer at the end of the 1973–74 season. 

Welbourne  joined Southport, where he finished his playing career. 

Welbourne  also took on a coaching role, and managed the team between September 1975 and January 1976.

Welbourne passed away at 78 years old.

Hugo Alarcón, Chilean footballer, Died at 26

Hugo Andrés Alarcón Abarzua was born on January 11,  1993 and died on January 11, 2019.

 

He was a Chilean footballer.

He served as a  player for Deportes Iberia as Striker at the moment of his death, when he turned 26.

 

He did all lower in Universidad Católica and his debut was in 2013 in a 0-0 against Palestino.

 

During July 2014 he's loan to Deportes La Pintana for a one-year loan.

Hugo Alarcón passed away at 26 years old.

Takeshi Umehara, Japanese philosopher, Died at 93

Takeshi Umehara was born on March 20, 1925, in Miyagi Prefecture in Tōhoku and died on January 12, 2019.

He was a graduate from the philosophical faculty of Kyoto University in 1948.

 

Umehara  taught philosophy at Ritsumeikan University and was subsequently appointed president of the Kyoto City University of Arts. 

Umehara was noted for his prolific essays on Japanese culture, in which he has ventured to refound the discipline of Japanese studies along more Japanocentric lines, especially in his book Nihongaku kotohajime (日本学事始) written in 1972 in collaboration with Shunpei Ueyama.

Other than is many works in academic essays on numerous aspects of Japanese culture he has also composed theatrical works on figures as varied as Yamato Takeru and Gilgamesh. 

 

In 2008, he started to publish modernized version of Noh theatre

Takeshi Umehara passed away at 93 years old.
