C. H. Lokanath was born on August 14, 1927, and died on December 31, 2018.
He was a noted Indian Kannada language veteran stage and cine artist of more than 1000 plays and 650 films to his film success.
He has worked in the industry for many years and is affectionately addressed as "Uncle Lokanath" or "Uppinakayi" by the industry people.
Loknath does not change his appearance in all his films throughout the career.
TV serial Priyadarshini telecasted in Star Suvarna Channel was one of his final appearances.
A few of his noted characters he has played are: Galileo in "Galileo", Rajaram in "Aspota", Dr. Faustus in "Dr. Faustus", Kakaji in "Tanavu Ninnade Manavu Ninnade", Dushtabudhi in "Chandrahasa" and many such plays. Loknath's most popular films include "Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu", "Collegu Ranga", "Naagarahaavu", "Katha Sangama", "Hosa Neeru", "Singapurinalli Raja Kulla",Minchina Ota and Mane Mane Kathe.
He has even acted in several episodes of Malgudi Days.
C. H. Lokanath passed away after a brief illness at 91 years old.
