Gilles Paquet, Canadian economist, Died at 82

Gilles Paquet was born on July 19, 1936 and died on January 18, 2019.

He was a Canadian economist.
 
He was appointed the President of the Royal Society of Canada from 2003 to 2005.
 
Paquet was Professor Emeritus at the School of Management and Senior Research Fellow at the Centre on Governance of the University of Ottawa until his death.

He was active as a journalist on the radio and television network of Radio-Canada from the 1970s onwards, working as an editorial writer for some 5 years in the print media in the 1990s, and as commentator on national affairs on TVOntario from 1995 to 2006. 

Gilles Paquet passed away at 82 years old.
