Hamza Abdullahi, Nigerian politician, Died at 73

Air Vice Marshal Hamza Abdullahi was born on March 2, 1945, in Hadejia, Jigawa State and died January 3, 2019.

He was Governor of Kano State in Nigeria from January 1984 to August 1985 while in the military regime of General Muhammadu Buhari.

When General Ibrahim Babangida came to power, Abdullahi was appointed Minister of Works and Housing, and later Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

Hamza Abdullahi attended the Nigeria Air Force Tactical Training Wing, Kaduna in 1964.

Hamza Abdullahi entered the Aircraft Technical Officer’s Course in West Germany (1964–1966) and in 1974 studied at the Royal Military Training Centre in Chichester, England.

He was promoted air vice-marshal in October 1988 and retired from the Nigerian Air Force two months later.

Hamza Abdullahi passed away at 73 years old.
