Marcel Azzola, French accordionist, Died at 91

Marcel Azzola was born on July 10, 1927, and died on January 22, 2019.

 

He was a French accordionist of Italian descent.

 

Azzola mother was from Valbondione and his dad was from Pradalunga. Azzola was conceived in Paris.

 

Azzola performed with Jacques Brel, among others. The well-known line "Chauffe, Marcel!" ("Heat up, Marcel") in Brel's melody Vésoul alludes to he, Azzola, who played the accordion amid the chronicle.
