Bill Watson, Australian Test cricketer, Died at 87

William James Watson was born on January 31, 1931, and died on December 31, 2018.

He was an Australian cricketer.

He played in four Tests in 1955. Watson was a right-hand opening batsman.

Watson scored 155 for New South Wales verse the MCC at Sydney in 1954-55 in his second top-notch coordinate.

Loknath, Indian actor, Died at 91

C. H. Lokanath was born on August 14, 1927, and died on December 31, 2018.

He was a noted Indian Kannada language veteran stage and cine artist of more than 1000 plays and 650 films to his film success.

He has worked in the industry for many years and is affectionately addressed as "Uncle Lokanath" or "Uppinakayi" by the industry people.

Loknath's most popular films include "Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu", "Collegu Ranga", "Naagarahaavu", "Katha Sangama", "Hosa Neeru", "Singapurinalli Raja Kulla",Minchina Ota and Mane Mane Kathe.

He has even acted in several episodes of Malgudi Days.

C. H. Lokanath passed away after a brief illness at 91 years old.

Syed Ali Raza Abidi, Pakistani politician, Died at 46

Syed Ali Raza Abidi was born on July 6, 1972, in Karachi, Pakistan and died on December 25, 2018.

 He was a Pakistani politician.

 He was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan as a candidate of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, in Pakistani general election, 2013.

 Syed Ali Raza Abidi received 81,603 votes and defeated Raja Azhar Khan, a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

He ran for the seat of the National Assembly as a candidate of MQM Pakistan from Constituency NA-243 (Karachi East-II) in Pakistani general election, 2018 but was unsuccessful.

He earned 24,082 votes and lost the seat to Imran Khan. Abidi was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from June 2013 to May 2018.

 His attack by gun took place outside his residence.

 He passed away at 46 years old.

Sulagitti Narasamma, Indian midwife, Died at 98

Sulagitti Narasamma was born in Krishnapura, Pavagada village and died on December 25, 2018.

She was an Indian midwife.

Sulagitti Narasamma has assisted in performing more than 15,000 traditional deliveries free of charge over a 70-year period of service in deprived regions of Karnataka with no medical facilities.

Narasamma work was honored with the National Citizen's award of India in 2012 and the country’s fourth highest civilian award, the Padma Shri, in 2018.

Narasamma learned her midwifery skills from her grandmother, Maremma, a midwife who also helped to deliver five of Narasamma's own babies.

At the age of 20, during 1940, Narasamma assisted at her first birth when she helped with the delivery of her aunt's baby.


Then by 2018, at the 97 years old, she had helped to deliver more than 15,000 babies during her years, and has been described as 'the go-to midwife of Krishnapura'.

Sulagitti Narasamma passed away at 98 years old.

Law Hieng Ding, Malaysian politician, Died at 83

Tan Sri Datuk Seri Law Hieng Ding was born on October 4, 1935, and died on December 25, 2018.

He was a Malaysian politician.

He was the Minister of Science, Technology and Environment from 1990 to 2004. From 1982 to 2008, He was was a member of parliament representing Sarikei.

Law Hieng Ding graduated from the Nanyang University, Singapore in 1960 with a Bachelor's degree of Commerce in Accountancy and Banking.

He began his political career in 1972 and has held the seat for the past six terms.

Law Hieng Ding served as the deputy minister from 1987 to 1990, and a Cabinet Minister from 1990 to 2004.

Law Hieng Ding was also the Deputy President of Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) and Nantah Education & Research Foundation as well as chairman or director to a number of public companies and foundation.

Law Hieng Ding passed away at 83 years old during the Christmas Day celebration.

Yoshitada Konoike, Japanese politician, Died at 88

Yoshitada Konoike was born on November 28, 1940, and died on December 25, 2018.

He was a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party and member of the House of Councillors in the Diet (national legislature).

He was a native of Amagasaki, Hyōgo, and graduate of Waseda University.

Konoike was chosen to the House of Representatives without precedent for 1986 after an unsuccessful keep running in 1983.

Nirendranath Chakravarty, Indian poet and writer, Died at 94

Nirendranath Chakraborty was born on October 19, 1924, and died on December 25, 2018.

He was a well known contemporary Bengali poet.

Chakravarty was the winner of the Sahitya Academy Award in 1974 for the book of poems Ulanga Raja (The Naked King).

During 2007, the University of Calcutta awarded him an honorary Doctor of Science degree.

Nirendranath Chakravarty also wrote few detective novels of Bhaduri Moshai.

Nirendranath Chakravarty passed away at 94 years old.
