Ian Shirley, New Zealand social policy academic, Died at 78

Ian Francis Shirley died on January 20, 2019

 
He was New Zealand's first professor of public policy and an advocate for social justice.
 
He founded the Institute of Public Policy at Auckland University of Technology.
 
He was appointed as a lecturer in the Social Work Unit at Massey University in 1977, and promoted to senior lecturer in 1980.

He retired from Auckland University of Technology in 2016, and was accorded the titile of professor emeritus.

He was an American philosopher and holder of an endowed chair in philosophy at the University of Notre Dame.

He was a specialist on the rationalist Michel Foucault and an editorial manager of Notre Dame Philosophical Reviews. 

Through his productions in such news sources as The New York Times and The Stone, he embraced the job of an open scholarly. 

He managed both mainland and scientific rationality and had composed on spanning the diagnostic mainland isolate.

Gilles Paquet, Canadian economist, Died at 82

Gilles Paquet was born on July 19, 1936 and died on January 18, 2019.
